If someone can supply an earlier reference to the rumors about the alleged “whitey” tape than what Larry Johnson
wrote on May 19, please do so.

But the real reason for Obama’s extraordinary freakout is that he fears the release of the videotape, reported here, of Michelle Obama in the pulpit of Rev. Jeremiah Wright’s church railing against “whitey.” And we don’t mean Whitey Ford. Four Republican sources have told me that the tape exists.

Until those alleged “Republican sources” are identified, or Larry Johnson is the source at least as regards what is from his website.

For example, I might state that a member of the Rastafarian Party informed me that John Q. Smith is a big ganja man. Until I reveal, or someone independently finds out who in the Rastafarian Party actually informed me about John Q. Smith’s alleged ganja use, I am the source of the rumor. After all, I might have simply invented the rumor.

If someone has better information searching capability than I do, then please come up with an earlier source. Until then, my statement stands.

In any event, the best assumption is that if the tapes have not yet shown up, they do not exist.
