Customer "support"

One of the worst aspects of moving has been the inordinate amount of time I have spent on hold.

Seriously. Precious hours have been wasted. For whatever reason, the large telephone and Internet companies hire either incompetent Americans or people in foreign countries to supply "customer support."

Things have reached the point where I am relieved if I get a foreigner, and I never thought I'd think that.

I have been grateful for the customer service foreigners for years. Now if we can only figure out how to get them green cards and import them into our medical system. Have you had to go for even simple tests recently? Look, I am as dependent as the next guy or gal on my internet and phone, but when you are talking about my health, my concern ramps up to a whole other level. I would love to be a fly on the all when doctors sit around and talk about this problem over a few beers.

The absolute least you can say about foreigners as customer service representatives is that they are very, very polite in telling you that they cannot do anything to alleviate your pain.
