I may be missing the point, but aside from the self-evident fact that Timothy Leary is an massive asshole, I don't get it...

The bulging eyes. The raving. The lies.

And Leary laughs the program controller off the stage.

And what happened in the end? The government didn't stop LSD. The fad just burned itself out. All that is left is a remnant subculture.

I thought Leary's performance on that show was utterly hilarious, and I watched it when it was first on TV:
