Dual Loyalties

Jews get accused a LOT of dual-loyalties. America AND Israel. Eric of Classical Values sent me a link to this url which shows it is Worse Than We Thought for some Christians.

Are you a Christian first and an American second?

Or an American first and a Christian second?

Do you take your marching orders from God or the constitution?

I am a Christian American. I love my county but my God is more important. If the constitution contridits the Bible i guess i will have to break the law. please to not think that i hate my country...i am very patriotic! I JUST LOVE JESUS MORE. :]

Of course that is not the only dual loyalty around. Some people have a commitment to Theft by the State - commonly referred to as Socialism - over the Constitution. And a lot of those don't even claim to be patriotic, in fact just the opposite. They see patriotism as an impediment.

I'll take the patriots. Even if they have dual loyalties.

Family first, United States second-although without the U.S. environment my family would still be in chains elsewhere. This is the reason my family has fought, and died, for this country for 10 generations. When we allow this country to be taken from us, by whatever means, we will be dead. Let us pray, and work, to see that it never happens.

Not being a christian makes this much easier.

But if you do believe strongly in a specific God, a "Creator of All Things" type of God, how can you NOT put that above any all else? If God (and hence your soul) are eternal, then you HAVE to follow what (you believe) he says.

Greetings:

Didn't Jesus put this issue to rest with His, "Render unto God the things that are God's and render unto Caesar the things that are Caesar's"?

In a similar, though different, vein, what about the growing incidence of "dual" or "multiple" citizenships. These are very large steps on the road to transnationalism that most in the medias are either ignoring or are unaware of.

He forgot to enumerate which was which. It causes problems.

Actually, and more to the point, Christians have to admit that when it comes to a sticking point between Christ's teaching and the laws of the land, Christ's teachings come first. This, of course, is where what Caesar demands as his due is also what Christ demands as His due. The issue at hand, not necessarily the exact demand, I mean.

Of course, it is to be expected that if you get caught, you have to submit to the laws of the land. Civil disobedience, hence, is permitted by Christian theology, but don't expect to get off scot-free. We have to count the cost and pay the price for obeying Christ and disobeying Caesar, at the end of the day.

So, if proselytising to Muslims is proscribed, we're going to do it anyway, but probably in a less overt manner, and if we get caught and sentenced to death, then we get caught and sentenced to death.
