Experience counts!
I've been getting quite a laugh out of the accusation that "conservatives" are using Nazi symbolology ("SS Nazi sign carried at town hall protest") -- especially considering that the "evidence" consists of a picture of a hand-lettered sign attempting to use the SS double lightning bolts in a mocking way: The sign uses the SS bolts to say "STOP" something (most likely socialized medicine, but I don't know). While I certainly would not make my point that way, I don't think the above sign indicates the slightest sympathy for Nazis by the sign holder, and certainly not by conservatives in general. But if it does, then I think we have to be fair, and I offer a few headlines, because these "SS Nazi signs" have been numbingly familiar for years. "SS Nazi sign carried at anti-Bush protest." "SS Nazi bumperstickers for sale to anti-war protesters at Cafe Press." And of course, "SS Nazi sign displayed by popular American musicians." I hate to sound so critical, but I think the hand-lettered sign waved at the town hall protest is pitifully sloppy by comparison. Where it comes to Nazi calligraphy, the amateurs could use some lessons from the professionals. posted by Eric on 08.06.09 at 06:43 PM

Gene Simmons of Kiss was born: Chaim Witz. He is an Israeli American. Paul Stanley was born: Stanley Eisen. Paul Daniel "Ace" Frehley Frehley was born and raised in The Bronx, the youngest of three children. He has a sister Nancy and a brother Charles, a classical guitarist. Frehley's parents are Carl Daniel Frehley born on July 4, 1903 in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania to Dutch immigrants, and Esther Anna Hecht was born on June 11, 1920 in Norlina, North Carolina to German immigrants of Jewish descent. Peter Criss: Of Italian and Irish extraction, Criss is the eldest of the five children of Joseph and Loretta Criscuola in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn, New York. from various wikis. M. Simon · August 6, 2009 08:59 PM The Kiss logo controversy is nothing new. From Wikipedia: Frehley created the now-iconic logo (making the "SS" look like lightning bolts) when he went to write the new band name over Wicked Lester (the band's original name ) on a poster outside the club where they were going to play.[10] The runic letters happened to look similar to the insignia of the Nazi SS, a symbol that is now illegal to display in Germany. Therefore to avoid controversy, after 1979 most of the band's album covers and merchandise in Germany have used a modified version of the logo, in which the "SS" looks like a backwards "ZZ."
