It seems our most esteemed Drug War General, Barry McCaffrey, is no longer towing the Government line on marijuana at least. He in effect says legalize it for adults. Also note why he couldn't say it before. He was muzzled by government. I wonder if our new Drug Czar will have the same problem?

I remember President Clinton similarly criticizing marijuana prohibition--after he was out of office.
It was a dereliction of duty of both these men not to do something about that tyranny when they actually had some political power.

William F. Buckley was also for the legalization of marjuana.

What do you mean "muzzled by government?" He WAS the government. It's simple - he could toe the line, or resign his position. No need to puzzle out which option he selected.
