You Can't Say That

Evidently in Britain there are fewer restrictions on polite conversation that there are in America. So Melanie Phillips says it:

You have to pinch yourself - a Marxisant radical who all his life has been mentored by, sat at the feet of, worshipped with, befriended, endorsed the philosophy of, funded and been in turn funded, politically promoted and supported by a nexus comprising black power anti-white racists, Jew-haters, revolutionary Marxists, unrepentant former terrorists and Chicago mobsters, is on the verge of becoming President of the United States. And apparently it's considered impolite to say so.
Well. More like racist. But that is a minor quibble.

Frankly, I feel like I am talking to the choir here, and we are all singing the same refrain.

I am going off-topic again, and so what!

I read a lot of blogs, just like you do, Simon. There are TONS of sound bytes out there, yet none of them are used, let alone effectively? Why is that exactly?

Look, I can whine with the best of them about how the main stream media has ceased to appreciate their prior, precious roll.

I can also whine about how, year after political year, people seem to NOT attach words to actions, and vice versa.

I even understand that most people are way too busy to spend one fiftieth the time I spend staying current and getting pissed.

Reluctantly, I can even understand that people pass suspect political judgment on the good looks of those with a platform, any platform, who stand beautifully before them.

There is one gosh darn thing I have a whole helluva lot of trouble with, and that is a leader who, for whatever reason, isn't leading when they ask us to follow and cast a vote on their behalf.

My beef is with JOHN MCCAIN right now. There are NO excuses that will work for me until he understands exactly what the Obama people have always understood. CREATE YOUR OWN IMAGE, then pound the friggin' daylights out of it! Exhaust us ALL to a better "good night's sleep".

How to do that? Well for starters, stand PROUDLY AS THE CENTRIST that you are, and have always been, Senator McCain. The vast majority of this country hangs around that middle line because we are NOT zealots. If you go too far right or too far left, you fall off that reasonable/rational line where there is no discussion at all. Will there be change with Obama and his democratic congress? OH MY YES! Change you can believe in? Well that depends, and begets the fine line between the "terrorist vs patriot" discussion, doesn't it?

Frankly, I feel the same way about Sarah Palin as I do Obama, were you to die too soon, Senator McCain. Joe Bidon is a mere prop to this discussion, and one that the democrats dropped early as presidential material. Joe is every state's typical, long term senator. No guts, Joe! Just another line item on your state's budget to soothe the special interest groups.

So, bottom line for me? How on earth could John McCain come so far against his own republican party, yet lead so little for the more balanced among us?

Obama will NEVER get my vote. He has sprinted way too fast to the center...right after he knocked over Hillary Clinton on his way! Now THAT was funny! Hillary was to the center of anyone?...Oh well...we call it "politics".

Neither Obama nor Palin will serve this country well. One presidential candidate so far left he is falling off the page, and the other, a vice presidential candidate, so far right. Both handsome people with scant experience dealing with this fine countries day-to-day, not to mention knee-dropping catastrophes like 911 ...so... um... that works! Right up until the flush of the "affair" wears off. That is just about the time we say...AGAIN...

WHERE THE HELL WAS JOHN MCCAIN WHEN WE NEEDED HIM?

Penny,

You obviously don't get Palin.

She governs libertarian.

When will people realize that, in matters of right and wrong political philosophy, no center exists. Such a position compromises with evil.
