Old History

Not really old history just forgotten according to history Professor David Kaiser.

How did he get people on his side? He did it by promising jobs to the jobless, money to the money-less, and rewards for the military-industrial complex. He did it by indoctrinating the children, advocating gun control, health care for all, better wages, better jobs, and promising to re-instill pride once again in the country, across Europe , and across the world. He did it with a compliant media - did you know that? And he did this all in the name of justice and change. And the people surely got what they voted for.
You know who he is talking about. And if you don't read the essay.

It is obvious we are far down the road when Congress Critters vote in favor of a bill they are not allowed to read.

You may find Professor Kaiser's book, The Road to Dallas: The Assassination of John F. Kennedy of interest.

I am very wary of an argument that relies upon reductio ad hitlerum, but this argument tries goes out of its way to avoid it.

And in so doing he scares the living sh!t out of me because it rings true to what we are now witnessing.

I have always wondered how an entire nation succumbed to the madness that was the Third Riech. I think I am now learning exactly how it was accomplished.

That is not to say that what will happen in the US if present circumstances continue will exactly emulate the horrors of Nazi Germany. That misses the point.

What is important is that a nation founded upon the concept of inalienable rights that are specifically enumerated in the founding documents finds its underpinnings being knocked from beneath it by those who disagree with those principles, using those self-same principles as the murder weapon.

What horrors follow, and whether they exactly match that of Nazi Germany, is of secondary importance right now.

We have to stop the mad rush.
