Optimistic About Obama

Palin's remarks about her optimism with respect to the incoming administration starts at about 3 minutes into the video.

I do agree with her. The Obama emphasis on lowering business taxes is a good thing. Because of Obama's immersion in Marxist philosophy as a youth I was not optimistic about his economic policies. We will see how he actually does in office, but so far I'm not displeased with his direction.

I'm starting to think that dreaming up economic plans are a foolish indulgence because WWIII will erupt across the globe within weeks.

It isn't merely Obama's "immersion in Marxist philosophy as a youth" that concerns me, it's his frequent statements that, to me, betrayed a lack of understanding of economics (at least under capitalism) and a predilection for redistributive policies. One was of course his unguarded remark to Joe the plumber about spreading the wealth around, for which Joe was subjected to a blitz from the media pimps and whores.

I just can't view anything he does with optimism, considering the way he carried himself during the campaign, and considering his scant but alarming voting record, and considering his endless talent for constant self-reinvention.

I don't think we're seeing the "real" Barack Obama, and we may never see him. If the one we get finds himself constrained by fiscal and economic and political realities to the point he can't unveil his inner Marxist, then I'm happy about that. But I can't really allow myself optimisim until the Age of Obama is over (after which, certainly, the oceans will resume their rise and the planet's wounds will reopen).

I love me some Sarah.

She is the only star in the Republican galaxy. She will be the leading fundraiser and the leading campaigner for the midterms. Her respectful attitude towards Obama and Hillary will serve her well sailing in a sea of unwanted hyper-partisanship (which Obama too is generally avoiding).
