Merry Christmas To All 2008 Version

There seems to be a lot of angst about wishing people a Merry Christmas. Happy Holidays seems to be in vogue. And of course we have The Holiday Season.

I propose we put an end to this kind of non-sense once and for all. We should refer to the holiday by its original name. The name it had before the date was moved and the name was changed.

Funny you should mention this, just yesterday I was discussing the noticeable increase in Merry Christmas greetings I heard this year with others who claim to have experienced the same. Maybe we are on our way! Merry Christmas!

Belated....Lo, Saturnalia, Simon!

Not seemingly of this world, as usual, my internet friend. I like that. Why does that give me solace, I wonder? Must be the historical underpinnings. You think? Naw, me neither.

In any case, I personally have a simple Merry Christmas to offer you and your loved ones. I feel certain all will be more than capable of translating the good will.
