Hilarity at Daily Kos

Over at Daily Kos, Ken Gladney (beaten by SEIU union thugs for distributing Gadsen flags while black) is being mocked for not having health insurance:

But there's an interesting twist to this story.

It turns out that Kenneth Gladney is a man without health insurance. And he's asking for help with his medical bills.

More on this hilarious irony after the jump.

According to the leftist view of reality, Gladney is a "hypocrite" for being needy yet not wanting the government to supply him with what he lacks:
Maybe somebody should ask Mr. Gladney why he is taking money from others. Clearly he hasn't earned the right to health insurance. So why is he asking others to support him, people who have jobs and work hard for their money? Why should they have to give it to him? Seems almost communistic or socialist to me.
Sorry, but voluntarily sharing with someone in need is not communism or socialism. It's called charity and they give precisely because they don't have to give. Apparently the Kos people don't understand the difference between charity and theft.

I guess you have to be a part of their compassionate chorus to see an injured man without health insurance as hilarious.

Or is the rule is that only injured conservatives are funny? Especially if they're beaten by leftists?

MORE: In the comments, M. Simon supplies a Gateway Pundit link pointing out that Mr. Gladney was insured.

As an earlier report had quoted him as saying he was not, the Washington Monthly is gleefully implying he's a liar.

But as brian made clear in his comment, it really does not matter whether he had insurance, or whether he realized he may have been covered under his wife's policy.

The left will attack him whether he has insurance or not. And they'll probably accuse him of freeloading off his wife, or lying, or anything else they can think of to smear him. It is shaping up to be a massive blame-the-victim, no-holds-barred, smear campaign. Absolutely disgusting.

MORE: Yes, more. "Father of Handicapped Son Received Threats After Confrontation With Rep. Dingell"

If this stuff was happening to Democrats, we'd be hearing about an epidemic of Republican hate crimes...

If a bunch of pro-Obama union goons hadn't beaten him into the ground, Gladney probably wouldn't need health insurance now.

What a gang of giggling hyenas.

Obama is not doing enough to promote his health care plan. One person in the hospital is nothing. He needs at least 100,000 - to start.

M. Simon   ·  August 10, 2009 05:41 PM

So, how/where do we donate?

Oscar   ·  August 10, 2009 06:03 PM

Or is the rule is that only injured conservatives are funny?

As far as they're concerned that's basically the gist of it, yes.

"So, how/where do we donate?"

email gateway pundit he's in st. louis and has been covering this story.

For some reason Kenneth's insurance situation (he is covered under his wife's insurance plan) has dominated the Far Left blogs... The fact that Kenneth was beaten, kicked and called a n*gger by Obama-supporting SEIU members does not faze them a bit. Sick.

?

And that's why I don't laugh at them anymore.

That's not a "my side/ your side" thing, that's the gov't sending thugs to stifle dissent.

And they're okay with it.

Of course any response is "Well Bush....". Cuz you know, he always sent union thugs to beat people up.

Political violence isn't new, but we haven't seen it so nakedly in a long time. Most people could pretend it didn't happen.
Not anymore.

Kos, is, well, just literally sickening to me because it's like falling into the rabbit hole for my poor brain. The logic and the fair play, they are completely twisted and slimed.
But I'm a little leary of the situation with Mr. Gladney, because I haven't seen any solid facts about the incident yet. The wheelchair thing means he was either seriously injured or else that he's play-acting.

RigelDog   ·  August 10, 2009 07:41 PM

Actually, I thought the issue of whether or not he was even "conservative" was up in the air. I understood that he was mainly selling flags to make money, not a point.

RD,

Brain injuries are not like broken arms. The brain gets rattled and then it swells. It takes time.

M. Simon   ·  August 10, 2009 09:18 PM

These same tactics were used in Germany in the thirties

Bob Rowin   ·  August 10, 2009 09:23 PM

Phelp - none of that matters.

Here's what matters - The administration has sent in union thugs to disrupt a political protest, and they randomly chose a person from the crowd and beat the shit out of him.

The fact that he is black and those who beat him are white is completely lost on the media/Democrat complex.

In order to get your mind around the shift that has occurred in our society as of 20 January, you only need to as yourself "What if Bush had done this?"

We'd be having another of those dialogs on race that Eric Holder says we're too cowardly to have, for one thing.

brian   ·  August 10, 2009 09:33 PM

Eric, these people aren't critical thinkers. Hell, these people aren't thinkers at all. Charity? Bah! Helping somebody out without the coercive power of the state? Sacreligious (sp?). Mr. Gladney had no health insurance because, it seems anyhow, he was an independent guy making money being an entrepreneur. To the morons at KOS that's stupid. While, this is an example of the problem of the current state of insurance, it's not a bell weather example of why O!bama care is correct.

Obstreperous Infidel   ·  August 10, 2009 10:12 PM

While I know there will be a long process, I'm kind of hoping his healthcare is, in the end, paid for by the SEIU or at least their thugs.

Good article! Thanks for wading into the sewer to get this stuff so we don't have to?
