Obama May Have Swine Flu
During Mr. Obama's recent trip to Mexico he was greeted by a man who may have subsequently died from the Swine Flu epidemic that is sweeping across Mexico. At least 20 deaths in Mexico from the disease are confirmed, Health Minister Jose Cordova said yesterday. The strain is a variant of H1N1 swine influenza that has also sickened at least eight people in California and Texas. As many as 68 deaths may be attributed to the virus in Mexico, and about 1,000 people in the Mexico City area are showing symptoms of the illness, Cordoba said.I hope Mr. Obama comes through this with minimal or no difficulties. I want to see him impeached. Besides. There is Joe Biden to think about. Update: Here is an interesting read on the last swine flu debacle. Why is that, Simon? Why do you want to see President Obama impeached? Why are you so sick, Simon? GDT · April 25, 2009 07:57 PM Why is that, Simon? Why do you want to see President Obama impeached? Simon · April 25, 2009 09:06 PM It is kind of interesting to think that he may have been very close to a possibly infected person and what that might mean in a political and world history sense if he were to have succumb but without any symptoms, and given that I suspect they can spare a course of Tamiflu for the Messiah, it might be a bit early to be looking for a tomb with a round rock door to lay him in. Snake Oil Baron · April 25, 2009 09:51 PM Beyond all that it political, it is a reminder that the secret service cannot protect the President from everything. Donna B. · April 25, 2009 11:35 PM Yes, The One, shall be layed in a tomb with a great rock blocking the entryway. But, he shall never be seen or heard from again! A great day for America! diane · April 26, 2009 12:53 AM I've heard from a few different sources that there would be no vaccination for such a rare virus as the Swine Flu, I hope this isn't the case Nomad · April 26, 2009 03:51 AM Nomad, it is possible to syntetize "short-term" vaccines to protect against specific types of strains (actually, with flu-type viruses is quite easy). The problem is that this type of viruses mutate extremely easily, and the hypothetic vaccine would probably not be effective against new strains. I was wondering, does anyone remember the bio-hazard accident Al-Qaeda had a couple of months ago in Africa? Sir Sefirot · April 26, 2009 07:25 AM A muslim with swine flu. But I believe it is a bit hasty to jump to conclusions before all the forensics are in. These types of viruses seem to specialize in exchanging genetic material from each other. Every few decades they seem to get lucky. What with air travel etc. a lot of this genetic material is available around the world. And you know - birds fly. In fact they migrate. Long distances. I'm with you though. Avoid vaccinations until there is some reason to believe they would be effective against the current strain. M. Simon · April 27, 2009 06:54 PM I hope Mr. Obama comes through this with minimal or no difficulties. I want to see him impeached. Besides. There is Joe Biden to think about. Um... even if Obama were to be impeached and removed from office, Biden would become president then too. On the other hand, Biden might be a tad easier for a GOP candidate to defeat in 2012 than Obama. On the other other hand... there is the GOP to think about. Joshua · April 27, 2009 10:22 PM Joshua, Yes. You caught the contradiction. So how about impeached but not convicted? And yes. The GOP has lost its way. M. Simon · April 28, 2009 04:58 AM |

It would be rather ironic, if not fitting justice, if the guy who pushed through the massive porkulus bill contracted swine flu.
