First We Kill All The Drug Users
Well not exactly all the drug users, only the casual ones. If you are dressed up in a suit or even better an evening dress or a tuxedo I guess you will be let off the hook. Say isn't that the way it works already? Yes it is. The well off go to rehab the poor go to jail. In any case let us take a look at what Daryl "kill the casual drug users" Gates has to say. EL PASO -- Sometimes controversial and always outspoken, former Los Angeles Police Chief Daryl Gates said Thursday that casual drug users in the U.S. are at the root of the violence in Juarez and should be shot.I propose an alternative solution requiring a lot less killing: suppose we just shoot the prohibition enforcers and let drug stores sell drugs. Now there is a very novel idea. Drug stores selling drugs. Who ever thought of that idea was a genius. Well smarter than Daryl Gates anyway. In any case I think a little compromise is in order. Say we let drug stores sell drugs and let prohibition enforces find other work. Maybe they could be trained to track down murders, burglars, and General Motors executives. Who the F#cK is HE??? I think he was born 25 years too late and in the wrong country. M. Simon · December 6, 2008 11:29 PM These pigs need to be held to account. They are operating and acting way beyond the bounds of The Constitution! They are operating ILLEGALLY in this Country! Where the hell is the outrage? Where is the Patriotism??? James · December 6, 2008 11:43 PM What a maroon. Of course, if no one in the U.S. or anywhere else used drugs, the cartels would go out of business, but... you wanna bet on that happening?
Donna B. · December 7, 2008 02:11 AM I agree that Daryl Gates is crazy, he is taking this way too far. Killing casual drug users is not the correct punishment, not to mention against the constitution. Even so, I think that the drug dealers should be prioritized over casual drug "users." R Pohlman · December 7, 2008 03:40 PM R Pohlman, It won't do the trick. Dealers of any consequence have a 1 in 7 chance of dying on the job already. Increasing that to 1 in 5 is probably not enough discouragement to change much. I suggest that going back to a drugs are legal regime is the answer. Like we had before 1914 for opiates and cocaine. Like we had before 1937 for marijuana. It will not fix the drug problem. It will fix the drugs + crime problem. M. Simon · December 7, 2008 04:29 PM What a fascinating concept. Cops actually fighting violent crime instead of working in municipal finance. Taxation without representation? Thank a cop today. dr kill · December 7, 2008 06:03 PM Los Angeles Police Chief Daryl Gates is obviously an idiot or imbecile at best if he made that comment. There are many factors for the crime in Mexico & America. Once again it all comes back to money & greed. (Didn't Mexico's former Drug Czar just get indicted on corruption charges.... you bet he did!) and let's not pretend our countrys not corrupt. We wrote the book on corruption.
