China - The Most Racist Country In The World

La Shawn Barber has a bit up about the racism of global warming. It is no joke.

On Tuesday, liberal Congressman James Clyburn spoke at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., to kick off the Environmental Justice and Climate Change Initiative, sponsored by the Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies. The left-leaning think tank created the Commission to Engage African-Americans on Climate Change to encourage blacks to join the global warming debate.

"It is critical our community be an integral and active part of the debate because African Americans are disproportionately impacted by the effects of climate change economically, socially and through our health and well-being," Clyburn said.

With no Klansman to defend against or whites-only signs to tear down, certain blacks are consumed with searching for racism in a single glance or an innocuous comment or on a magazine cover or under rocks. In this case, they looked for and found racism in the skies.

That would make China whose CO2 output now surpasses America's the most racist country in the world.

Oh, you have no idea. All AGW silliness aside, the ethnic Chinese (Han) are, as a whole, a profoundly racist lot. Of course, that ethnic minorities get special treatment by their government (such as exemptions from the one child rule) only breeds further resentment.

So we'll assume for the moment that global warming is real and also that it is a bad thing. We'll grant that anything bad that happens will hit harder those less well equipped to adapt; namely, the poor. And we'll grant as obvious that blacks are disproportionately poor.

Therefore, anything bad is racist?

So now what do we do with that information? It does not contribute to the effort to determine whether humans are causing global warming, which in my opinion is a neceesary precondition to establishing that human behavior can counteract it.

And is it really possible, let alone wise, to treat every issue that has an effect on humanity through the racial lens? (If everything bad is racist, then everything good is necessarily...anti-racist? Affirmative Actionist? whatever, you get the idea)

Reminds me of the old joke about God announcing the end of the word: the headline in the NY Times: "World To End! Women, Minorities Hardest Hit!"

Right, but for the wrong reasons. I had a number of Chinese roommates when I was in grad school. Good roommates. However, mark my words: there are none so ethnocentric as the Han. (Han= ethnic Chinese)

When Europeans first came to China, the Chinese thought they were monkeys. How many Politically Correct people are aware of that?
