What Classic Movie am I?
This test says I'm "Platoon." I'm hoping this says more about the people who wrote the test than it does about me, because I didn't like "Platoon" and I can't stand Oliver Stone. Who wants to be a film you can't stand? I found this test via Sean Kinsell, who is also a Vietnam war film, but his is "Apocalypse Now." Sean links another test called "What Famous Leader Are You?" According to the test, he's Ghandi -- an "emaciated do-gooder." To which Sean replies "WTF?" My results are not publicly disclosable, as I don't want this blog to be banned in France. posted by Eric on 10.25.07 at 01:29 PM

I got Apocalypse Now. Meh, could have been worse. As for the leader quiz: Einstein. ... I'll take that one as a compliment. Kenshu Ani · October 25, 2007 05:25 PM There's some overlap here, maybe it says something about the tests, maybe it says something about your readers. I got Easy Rider and Einstein (who wasn't a leader and they didn't ask about intelligence, but I'll take it) tim maguire · October 25, 2007 05:47 PM No fair! You guys got good results, and I can't even repeat mine in public. Eric Scheie · October 25, 2007 10:25 PM Apocalypse/Einstein also. We may all be disturbingly alike...'cept [unmentionable] over there...marching us off around the internet...shouting things... guy on internet · October 25, 2007 10:33 PM Eric, if it makes you feel any better, I ended up being identified with a leader whose name rhymes with "Spitler". That was a bit of an unpleasant surprise. John S. · October 25, 2007 11:20 PM Rhymes with Spitler? Hmmm...Brad Pittler? tim maguire · October 26, 2007 11:24 AM Thanks for rescuing me Tim! Eric Scheie · October 26, 2007 12:18 PM I swear this test is just designed to cause bad results. I am Saddam Hussein. I think the creator of this test needs to read up on their world leaders. That or they just have a very biased world view. Probably both. jtd · October 26, 2007 07:07 PM Ugh, I got "Wuthering Heights" and Che. Rob · October 26, 2007 08:12 PM Raiders Of The Lost Ark (I live for adventure, fortune hunting, and danger). JFK (I like power because it increases my sexual options. I am a thrill seeker by nature and don't shy away from risky behavior). Joe R. · October 31, 2007 01:46 AM Post a comment
