Palestinian Lesbians Safe In Israel

It is not safe to be a lesbian in Palestine.

Many of the attendees said they were sad that the only place safe enough to hold a conference for gay Arab women was in a Jewish area of Haifa, which has a mixed Arab-Jewish population.
How is that for irony?

I got the link from Carl in Jerusalem who asks this question:

Can someone please explain why the queers are for 'Palestine'?

As to the request for an explanation, I'll try....

If you apply their own form of conventional wisdom, the explanation would be that the QUIT people suffer from "internalized homophobia" and what is called "self hatred." Thus, they gravitate towards people who want to kill them.

While I don't agree with their nonsensical theories about self hatred, I do think it's fair to ask that they live up to their own standards. (I suppose even a stopped clock is right twice a day.)

You beat me to it. I was going to say self-hatred coupled with stupidity, myopia and being pathologically ideological.

I once argued with a pro-Palestinian gay man on a forum. I pointed out that in Palestine, his homosexuality would get him killed. His response was predictable: he felt no safer in Christofascist America.
