Political Humor

From the pages of Mossback Culture comes this must see piece of visual persuasion.

Please press here. Do it now.

Personally, I'm not too keen on either side.

It is kind of funny though.

This bit from Tom McClintock is good too...

Across California, children are bringing home notes warning of dire consequences if Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger's scorched-earth budget is approved -- a budget that slashes Proposition 98 public-school spending from $42.2 billion this year all the way down to $44.7 billion next year...

The governor proposed spending $10,084 per student from all sources. Devoting all of this money to the classroom would require turning tens of thousands of school bureaucrats, consultants, advisers and specialists onto the streets with no means of support or marketable job skills, something that no enlightened social democracy should allow.

So I will begin by excluding from this discussion the entire budget of the State Department of Education...I also propose setting aside $3 billion to pay an additional 30,000 school bureaucrats $100,000 per year...

This leaves a mere $6,937 per student, which, for the duration of the funding crisis, I propose devoting to the classroom.

To illustrate how we might scrape by at this subsistence level, let's use a hypothetical school of 180 students with only $1.2 million to get through the year.

We have all seen the pictures of filthy bathrooms, leaky roofs, peeling paint and crumbling plaster to which our children have been condemned. I propose that we rescue them from this squalor by leasing out luxury commercial office space. Our school will need 4,800 square feet for five classrooms (the sixth class is gym). At $33 per foot, an annual lease will cost $158,400.

This will provide executive washrooms, around-the-clock janitorial service, wall-to-wall carpeting, utilities and music in the elevators. We'll also need new desks to preserve the professional ambience.

Next, we'll need to hire five teachers, but not just any teachers. I propose hiring only associate professors from the California State University at their level of pay...

Since our conventional gym classes haven't stemmed the childhood obesity epidemic, I propose replacing them with an annual membership at a private health club for $39.95 per month...

Our bare-bones budget comes to this...

Read the whole thing. It would be funnier if it weren't true.

» CA state Sen. McClintock - comedy gold from Darleen's Place
I grit my teeth some mornings when I'm subjected to the whiney-ass ads on the radio from the 800-pound gorilla, as known as the California Teachers Association. They are absolutely incensed that Gov Schwartzenneger does not properly genuflect in their... [Read More]

There isn't any "obesity epidemic". Some people are fat [endomorphs], some people are thin [endomorphs], some people are muscular [mesomorphs], and all the permutations of these, just as skin and hair colors and sexes and sexual preferences are different. And "...God hath shapen lives three, boor and knight and priest they be...." People are inherently different and unequal. That's the way it is and should be, the eternal hierarchy of the Divine.

That was an extremely interesting dualism of women of the Left vs. women of the Right. I have long asked myself the profound philosophical/theological question: which kind of women tend to be sexier, more attractive, more beautiful, more pulchritudinous, more Goddess-like, women of the Left or women of the Right (as defined primarily by where they place themselves on a spectrum)? Hmmm.... That visual certainly indicates one answer, and I have often seen others remark on that idea. E.g., the Goldwater Girls of 1964 were said to be sexy. I would have loved to see a picture of them. I love Camille Paglia and Tammy Bruce, both Starboard Sapphists. On the other hand, I must confess that I am not turned on by Ann Coulter as I used to be, while I find Susan Faludi quite beautiful, and I am extremely turned on by Eleanor Clift even though I disagree with just about every word that comes out of her mouth. I would love to do an experiment and see for myself which type of women is sexier on the whole. E.g., look at 100 or 1000 or 1,000,000 or 1,000,000,000 photos of women of the Left vs. 100 or 1000 or 1,000,000 or 1,000,000,000 photos of women of the Right. I could spend 1,000,000,000 lifetimes, an eternity, pondering that spectrumological question. Most fascinating....!

Holy Dawn and her holy Negro wife Norma on the Far Right [for polytheism, monogamy, and monarchy] vs. wicked Wanda and her women (Wendy, Cindy, Sandy, Candy, Brandy, Brenda, Glenda, Stella, Hannah) on the Far Left [for atheism, adultery, and anarchy]. Wanda enjoys her free existence, while Dawn struggles toward her paradigm of ideal essences....

Erratum: ....some people are thin [ectomorphs]....

Your definition of "good" is a bit dodgy. Fire the adminstrators. Go ahead. See who runs the school system. Oh, wait! I know! The church! Yeah!

Adminstrator salaries are as a good a subject of debate as any, but lets level the playing field, shall we?

Regarding the budget, the apparent increase surely takes into account a: the exploding population b: inflation. Neither issue was analyzed or explored by the writer. That's a lie by exclusion.
