World War IV also means the US will be getting a lot larger than she is now, and we'd better get used to the idea. As governments fail and collapse we will be called upon to fill the void. Better us than nations like China.

Here's my prognosis: World War IV will begin when we occupy Vladivostock in the Russia Far East to restore order.

Global in scope does not mean, of necessity, Nation State to Nation State conflict. We already have a global set of illegitimate military actors in the various forms of terrorist. Unlike the condottieri, however, they truly are their own organizations with their own outlooks and ends. For all that folks worry about China, it is implosion there starting in the western reaches and moving eastwards that are of concern. And there is exactly zero that can be done about it as al Qaeda and Taliban shift emphasis north and south, putting a holding action on Kasmir so as to try and shake up asian alignment. Using the analogy of a drug gang moving into a poor region of town is one to think about, with al Qaeda purchasing influence from the very poorest regions and undermining traditional rule: you can make money in obedience and it is a good sight better than working the fields, just pray, stop smoking and alcohol and grow a beard if you can. Life is cheap in China, just examine their crony capitalist organizations to see that.

The Tri-Border Area of S. America is already a haven for Hezbollah and has its own capital investments there. Not only from narcotics, but from pirated software and videos, it now has part ownership in a Paraguayan shopping mall used for sale of such goods and money laundering. They also do the heroin for cocain trans-shipment business from the Bekaa, which is the real reason for much of the flare-ups in Lebanon: that is a cash cow for the organization. Hamas and al Qaeda, along with Jamaat al-Fuqra are also there, Guyana, Venezuela, and the Caribbean. Remember the first Islamic coup in the western hemisphere was in Trinidad in 1990. They have not gone away.

No idea what will happen with N. Korea, but when Mr. Kim goes away the Magic Kingdom is up for grabs. It has multiple centers of minor revenue for the Nation State concept, but they would be big money makers for non-State actors: counterfeiting US $100 bills, high quality pharma knock offs (better than the western labs make for the high traffic items), and heroin refining so good that the triads are slowly being taken over by NoKo. When that goes into the pot, the best that can be hoped for is a sudden take-over from the South... unfortunately the refugee flow will be north and south and China is already unstable and would be hard pressed to cope with *any* refugee problem. Hate to have that happen with destabilization in the western reaches...

Pakistan is a huge worry, with nuclear processing capability already involved and viable warhead designs. The Waziristan area is in the closest state of civil war that it ever has been and it is not clear if there is the will in the Pakistani government to oppose it and finally end that attitude there. It is not just the President there, but the ISI which helps fund and sustain multiple radical islamic organizations.

Iran has nearly destroyed its petrosystem, and is a few years away from collapse of that. Before it goes totally the money will stop flowing in and the idea of revolution in the streets will be seen. The last flights out will have multiple high level mullahs and elements of the IRGC shifting to Lebanon, Bosnia, Chechnya, Algeria, and the Tri-Border Area.

Somalia might be saved, but Darfur will be an indicator of the direction of western africa... Nigeria is also suffering badly and more as the local are siphoning so much off the oil system that it is put at risk. Add in the islamic factor there and some relatively metastable neighbors and a pretty picture is not seen.

Europe is being colonized by north africa and islamists, and France already has large 'no go' areas for the indigenous population. Germany, Norway, UK, Sweden, Denmark, Netherlands... all have this problem to one degree or another and any economic instability will make things very dicey across Europe's western flank. The Eastern parts, the ex-Soviet bloc, actually are better off for having little want or need of immigrants and retain high coherence of their societies. That is good. The Balkans are a mess, serving as the open way-point for drugs, arms and terrorism between Europe, Africa, the Middle East and then onto S. America.

The atmosphere today does not feel exactly as described in 1939... Orwell's Keep the Aspidistera Flying, written in 1936, gives that feeling of premonition in the air, just waiting for the expected war to come.

What is coming, that oncoming storm as I call it, is global in extent but will not have the shape of a World War.... we should be so lucky as to have that. This is something that the young Republic, anytime before 1906 or so, would understand and know how to counter. That flexible American attitude of that era is still with us in story, but its realm and scope are so little today, because of the paths taken to add power to the highest rank of government, that the ability to flex at the personal level is nearly gone. And the US is not only *not* immune, but may be bringing in the cause of its own chaos. Not just in the unassimilated that we have unwisely let in, but in the form of one of the most capable individuals to counter America in her entire history. His family has controlled the narcotics trade from Syria for at least two generations and he, personally, has multiple drug organizations in major cities across America: Detroit, Philadelphia, LA, Phoenix, to name a few. He has only been convicted on *minor* offenses in his life because, on the major ones, he has reached into jail systems to have convicts recant testimony against him... and others folks outside of that have strangely gotten drunk and walked off of high balconies... or just been assassinated by unknown individuals.

Unlike the inept jihadis, he is a professional terrorist: his strikes few but sure and he remains untouchable for he takes no credit. Yes, we do have him on charges and he fights extradition now... but what happens *if* he is only tried for civil crimes? He will be in America, with decades of preparation... he set up a quite able intelligence and criminal organization in the Tri-Border Area in less than 10 years, yet he and his family have been pushing drugs in America at least since the 1950's. He is not *just* a criminal. And the moment we treat him as one, and lay charges with evidence, then the killings will start. In jail or not, walking free or not, in police protection or not... he can take out witnesses and evidence. His name is Monzer al-Kassar and we will rue the day we treated such a one as a mere criminal. This will be the *last* time we make the mistake of treating such as him as merely criminal.

The storm is coming and the storm front will arrive soon. Not World War but Global Conflict... we had our chance to stand for ourselves and did not do so. Civilization or 'we can't be offending someone'... time to decide which leads to life and which to death.

Choose wisely... time grows short. I choose life, liberty and freedom, and if that offends then that is your problem, not mine.

However horrific it may be, the knockout punch won't knock us out. Instead, it will shift us from playing defense back to offense - and this time we won't hold back.

It's a shame when we find ourselves _hoping_ for some atrocity horrible enough to get the country united and doing the right thing.

I don't think so. I think we've lost. When the Democrats can lie freely and commit blatant acts of treason and get only praise from the media, we've lost. When defending the U.S. is a crime to be investigated, we've lost.

The terrorists don't have to destroy us. We're destroying ourselves. The Democrat party politicians and the media are a thousand times more deadly to America than any jihadist. And they're in power, right now. Working busily to destroy us, right now.

Why? How? Because they hate us. Liberals hate Americans. Talk to one -- they can't get through five minutes of conversation without spewing venom about some aspect of American society. They have contempt for us and they will be glad when thousands more are killed by terrorists -- unless they're disappointed that it wasn't millions dead.

I'm just going to start buying guns. Western Civilization is doomed. Democracy, freedom, science -- all the greatest achievements of mankind are doomed. The Democrats are working very hard to destroy them and at this point I see no way to stop them. Time to stockpile food, learn to shoot, and hope my children can survive the coming age of terror.

Well, what was quoted in this post I certainly agreed with. But, boy... He sure does have a very negative opinion of Americans.

I don't think Americans would be so irrational. If acts against Muslims in America were limited to a few cases of vandalism after 9/11 (to my knowledge, there were few, if any, reports of assaults or murders against Muslims), and I see no reason to expect Americans to do anything but refocus our efforts on an actual enemy.

If Americans would operate as he suggests, then the ACLU would have been dismantled long ago, registered Democrats would have been charged with treason, and Dinesh D'Souza' advice would've been taken to heart, and a work around for that pesky Lawrence v. Texas decision would've been found.
