Viva fashionismo!

Yes, that's right!

I am so tired of some murderers being glorified as "people's heroes" while other murderers are vilified as "evil butchers," (based upon no logical standard ascertainable to me) that I finally decided to apply some old fashioned moral equivalency in protest.

I humbly offer a fashionist/fashionista statement combining two murderers, one a commie we are told to love (and who's been morphed into a Hollywood legend), and the other a fascist we are told to hate.

Without further ado, here it is -- the unveiling of the never-seen-before (and probably never-seen-again)....

PINO-CHE "T"

I mean no offense to the victims of either of these two men, as it is not my intent to glorify them. Only offer a little perspective.

(And symmetrical ridicule.)

MORE: The Manolo, he would seem to agree:

Nothing is more worthy of the ridicule than the fashion sense of the dictators, politburos, autocrats, and tyrants.

Some murders is more equal than others,to paraphrase Orwell. The dictator Pinochet left power to leave Chile run itself as best it can. Castro after 46 years still sits on his throne. One is a villain the other is not, at least in influential circles. The dictator Pinochet established a voluntary and alternate equivilant of out Social Security system, in free America you can barely talk about it. There's no real explanation except the most basic one; there are no fundemental morals in this, just ugly, primal urges. Pinochet is dying and still hounded and hated, Che is glorified, this from our moral tutors!

Your moral equivalency argument is wrong, because it's, just, wrong!

Why do you think it is that Pinoche is reviled but Guevara worshipped? Is it because Pinochet died in "glorious" circumstances?

That's part of it, but another part is thet Guevara is considered more handsome than Pinochet.

As to moral equivalency, both men killed thousands, each for a cause. Why we honor the pro-Communist (and anti-American) cause more than the anti-Communist (pro-U.S.) cause is worthy of satire.
