Probably because it's so much warmer than the East Coast, I've been working outside without wearing warm enough clothes, so I caught something (so, it seems, has everyone else around here) and now I'm stuck with a disabling cough. While there are cough "remedies" like Dextromethorphan, the symptoms are worse than the disease.
Anyway, what Glenn Reynolds said about the flu applies to me right now:
hacking, coughing and looking miserable.
It's February.
Yuck! But I'm glad I'm still in California for the next few days.
And my experience tells me that Februarys never last . . .
I'm still writing that big post on the "Smitty'n'Andy" spectrum, still working on it. It's already as long as the last one and I'm just getting started. I don't know how long it'll take me to finish. Don't expect it today, maybe tomorrow. I've got a lot to say just about that one spectrum and its origin, plus a couple more spectra that tie in with that. It'll probably be more than one post, then. As that bus driver said, bear with me until we get squared away.
I hear the world is overdue for a flu pandemic...
