Rush to judgment

My views on Rush Limbaugh seem to be getting misunderstood. I was in no way defending Rush Limbaugh the man or his opinions, which I think are evil.

I think drug laws are profoundly evil, though, and I cannot countenance punishing anyone for them. Similarly, if a leading anti-gay bigot were to be arrested for "sodomy" (assuming that were still illegal), I would argue that he did not deserve punishment -- for sodomy. That is not to say that he is a good guy.

Rush Limbaugh is a terrible hypocrite. But the last time I looked, that was not a crime. Nor should it be a crime.
